Will Simple Burner only recgonize mp3’s or just audio files (.wav’s)? I tried to do this with Damon tools using mp3’s and Simple Burner would see the drive D:/ but would not see the MP3’s that I had mounted on the disk. So on my way into work this morning I figured that maybe SB only could see wav files? If this is not true can you think of any other reason that this would be happening?
Thanks for all your help

See mate, you must "burn" either wav's or mp3's to an image, so this means converting these formats to Audio CD.

Then Simple Burner will see the image as a normal CD, given that you have mounted the image to the virtual drive that is.

If you have any further problems I'll be glad to help.

Regards,

That’s what I thought I did? I went in to Nero and created a disg image( I think It was .nrg) and then used damon tools to mount it to the virtural drive ? when I went to simple burner the drive was there but the no tracks ? However when I checked to see if the drive had the image on it it looked lik it was a normal audio Cd with 8 tracks?? Any ideas?

This is odd
i got everything working but when i click record on the simple burner, it says "not enough HD space"
I have one gig of space availble on each of my drives and it says i have too little hd space. and isnt simple burner suppse to do a direct CD>MD transfer without using the HD???

Thumbs up Getting a bit further

Hi there,

I'm new to the forum (hello everyone! ), new to MD (just got my N1 a couple of days ago) and not so new to computers.

First of all, say that this is a great trick. I was thinking about it before getting my MD and was to try it this weekend. The idea is simple and if you have used a virtual CD drive before (quite useful to test games and programs before burning onto a CD) it's easy to think about this new usage.

What I don´t know for sure and have to give a try, is whether Nero Image Recorder and ImageDrive would handle images bigger than the usual 650, 700 or 800Mb. YOu know, if you can fit 160 minutes of music onto a 80 min MD, why not creating an image with 160 min of music? I suppose you can "burn" the image but, would imagedrive handle it?

My two cents

Question ATRAC Recordings

Does this mean that we can now record at full ATRAC encoding rates through NetMD and not be limited to ATRAC3 with a highest rate of 132kbps?

I think I have figured out my problem and have a few thoughts as well. I have been using Damon Tools seeing how I have no way to get a hold of the Nero Image Drive unless I get Nero on CD. Any ways the Damon tools does not support Nero images (.nrg) so when I create the image, I can't get it to mount? So I have downloaded CloneCD and BlindRead which is supported by Damon Tools but I am having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to burn a image of a make believe disc (being able to add all the MP3's in to a image like Nero) instead of what I think these programs are really used for, making copies of actual discs?? Any way to bring up another idea about the allotment of space, in Damon Tools I believe you are able to mount a Virtual DVD which is up to 3.4 gigs I think? But then the question is will simple burner see it as an audio disc?? Well I am still not able to do this trick so if any one has used the CloneCD or Blindread for this or any other program that I would be able to create a image like in Nero. Please let me know.... or if I can get a copy of Nero ImageDrive some how? Thanks all

i just stumbled across this *fix*, and i have to say well done to the guy who thoguht of it...so simple, yet so useful. it's obvious really when you think about it

i haven't yet had chance to try this out, but what's the sound quality like in lp2 with this method, using openmg on my mp3s (mostly 128kbs) i noticed a *serious* loss of quality, crackling etc, which i hadn't noticed on any lp2 recordings before.

i hope this fixes this problem too

Talking

As Saint Peter said to David Koresh at the Pearly Gates: "Well done!" That's a neat workaround - gonna give this one a try this weekend. Good job, dino!
