Is there another way to install the drivers?
i was just thinkin, if there were another way to choose to install the drivers so that our computers recognise our N1 netmds as N10's. Much like my video card.. I can make my computer install drivers specific for Quadro XGL, even though my vid card is a geforce 4 4200..
But since the drivers support everything below N10, we can't alter the recognition. So in theory, i dont think the N1-n10 speed mod will work... again on this train of thought, if someone with a N10 recorder could install the drivers, and zip them up manually, that would also work.. But i'm not sure how these drivers are packaged. Like if they are all in one file or files specicific for each unit. Anyway, If anyone knows of a way to change the recognition of N1's to N10's, that would be of great help |

If you take a look at the inf...
There's no settings whatsoever, they all use the same Now tricking windows for identifying the device id for another one is another story... |

Well that's what we need.. to really test out if the transfer mode is purely software related..

Dunno if anybody here realises here but the N1 driver works for the N10 as well. In other words there is no difference betweenthe N1 and N10 NetMD Driver....both devices are recognised as NetMD Devices with no model specified, just like the N505, N707 and I'd imagine the newer NetMD Models as well.

You're sure the old drivers works with the N10?

i'm sure someone will make a way to flash the bios of the N1 or something.. Hehe maybe that'll work..
But i dont really think it would be hardware that would determine the speed.. I'm guessing its the Firmware. Like i flash upgraded my sony burner with a Lite-on VS08 48x burner firmware. It was 40x speed before.. oh well, 8x is still a nice upgrade.. But i'm not recommending anyone out there do it, unless you know what you are doing and have good computer experience |

Hmm.. I thought all NetMD devices used the same driver -- the only thing you'll probably need is the INF file from all the various devices, and each time it prompts for a file, make sure you direct it to the right folder.
