Any idea what the patches do? I don't know why but I have an iffy feeling that the patch for SB might make tracks protected or something evil like that...

it doesn't say so:

Quote:
* MD information might not be displayed if Net MD is connected to a PC when Simple Burner launches.
* Simple Burner cannot be opened unless more than 200MB of HDD space is available.
* Net MD connection/disconnection might not be recognized.
* CDDB error might be occurred when SonicStage Ver.1.5 installation is finished.
* A track being playback might lose focus after clicking "Get CD Info".
* The Simple Burner window might not be refreshed when ejecting an audio CD or disconnecting Net MD player.
* MD pane might not be refreshed when scrolling while first or last track is highlighted.
maybe i'm just paranoid...

Indeed, there's are Simple Burner and OpenMG patches. They're supposed to fix some issues... however I am afraid of installing evil Sony software.

I'll wait for the brave ones to adventure and see if everything works out well.

By the way I checked both SB and OMG versions and they are indeed higher builds (the patches).

Regards,

Well, I'll keep you posted on this mates. I have downloaded and succesfully installed both the OMG and SB patches. Both applications version numbers have gone up, and I had no errors whatsoever. I did create a Restore Point in XP before patching though, you never know.

I haven't tried SB with Nero yet because I am currently recording a disc with my N1 in SP with my stereo.

It should be done in about 10 minutes, I will then proceed to try SB and Nero and I'll post the results here.

Regards,

Ok, I just transferred a couple of songs via the Nero/SB method. Everything works perfectly, now slowness, no hangs, and overall no TrProtect, I took my unit out of it's craddle and delete one of the songs without a problem. And then deleted the whole disc.

So it's safe to download this patches, OpenMG also worked fine (2nd time in my life I use it to transfer music).

I don't know but I felt that after patching Simple Burner the transfers were just a little bit faster, maybe the improved the code that handles USB communication ?

Oh, and M3U2SB worked perfectly too.
