Part 2 (final) - Modified hack for the mz-nf610
Hey,
My recorder is a mz-nf610 with firmware v. 1.600. I decided to mess with the 062 byte. This is what I found: Note: my Byte 061 is set to C0 (Czero) which adds AU OUT (line out) and keeps the original SOUND menu. Byte 062: 76543210 (bit position) ------------- 00010000 = 10 same as original 00100000 = 20 original 01000000 = 40 ---- in P-Mode: adds PGM 01110000 = 70 ---- in P-Mode: adds PGM 01110001 = 71 ---- in P-Mode: adds PGM ---- in Useful: adds P.D.M, MTimer, DPC 01110011 = 73 ---- in P-Mode: adds PGM ---- in Useful: adds P.D.M, MTimer, DPC 01110101 = 75 ---- in P-Mode: adds PGM ---- in Useful: adds P.D.M, MTimer, DPC 01111001 = 79 ---- removes Edit menu ---- in P-Mode: adds PGM ---- in Useful: adds P-Info, MTimer, SpCtrl ---- in Option: changes AVLS to EAR-G 01111011 = 7B ---- removes Edit menu ---- in P-Mode: adds PGM ---- in Useful: adds P-Info, MTimer, SpCtrl ---- in Option: changes AVLS to EAR-G 71 and 73 seem to be doing the same thing. 79 and 7B seem to be doing the same thing. As you can see, my tests were quite random but here is my conclusion. It seems that: - when bit 0 is set: PDM, MTimer and DPC are added - I don't know what bit 1 and bit 2 do - when bit 3 is set: EDIT menu is removed - I don't know what bit 4 and bit 5 do - when bit 6 is set: PGM is added to P-MODE - Bit 7 is not available I personnaly use 01100001 = 61 as value just because the original value (20) sets bit 5. Those are the changes I saw, maybe something else got removed or added. If someone wants to try something else at HIS OWN RISK, please share your observation with us. Does anyone know what PGM means? Have fun, HunterD Last edited by hunterd; August 11th, 2003 at 09:20 PM. |

I have my unit as following:
61 set to 72 - the 6 band, the Line Out, and Katakana editing capabilities, also confirmed for 510 (thanks to Wetzel). 62 set to 61 per hunterd's setting. Works fine, remote still kicking ass, tuning in radio bits (remote RM-MC37LT) after about a month of hacking 61 bit, dehacking, and otherwise abusing my 610 to bits and pieces. BTW, much thanks for setting the 62 bit free for the 610 users!! Last edited by Damage; September 2nd, 2003 at 01:25 AM. |

Can you do a step by step tut? I am kinda worried that I might screw up, and I still don't know what to do, given the bits. Your settings seem solid, so could you do a guide for those? Thanks for your time
