Oh sorry forgot :)
Opera Browser (http://www.opera.com/) is an internet browser, that is very customizable. Supposedly, is "the worlds fastest broswer" im not sure about that, but in my experience it is considerably faster then IE. Plus comes with many features, that make browsing so much better. Software is free (with ad, banners)
Polaris (http://www.polaris-central.com/) is "a fully featured, fileserver orientated script for mirc' If your familiar with IRC, you shuould know what this is. Software is free.
WinMX, you are aware of.
PSP is actually Paint Shop Pro (http://www.jasc.com/) basically a paint program. Software is not free. Trials availble I think.

Opera sounds good, I might have to try it... the only thing is the banner support puts me off. How bad is the baner support? I guess I should try it out myself.
Nuworld I don't think this is about "warez", but I agree with you if it is please close down the thread.
Back to the subject...
I myself can't live without:
Audiogalaxy
WinMX
Winamp
Cooledit
Adobe Acrobat 5.0
Photoshop 6
ACDC
MapInfo Pro 6.5

This probably only serves to prove what a boring guy I am, but these are MY most used softwares:
CorelDraw 10: Total graphics software, 100000X better than Photoshop at everything, but 1000000X harder to use..I'd die if I couldn't use it for even one day, I use i to make graphics for everything, from animated GIF's to giant banners for the sides of busses...
Microsoft Outlook XP: Always running, keeping me up-to-date with all the latest spam...
Dreamweaver Ultradev 4: The best GUI HTML editor out there
For music I use CoolEdit Pro 2002 but unforunately I just don't get enough time to use it enough for it to make my "top 3".

since we've now established that this is about favourite programs - as opposed to "warez" (that word just has it's own obvious connotations) - here's my needed programs
Freehand
Photoshop
Quark XPress Passport (well, not for long - InDesign2 here I come!)
iTunes
iPhoto (it's actually REALLY handy for organizing any library of images)
Flash
IE:mac
Mail
Fire (think of it as a better looking trillian for osX)

OK. I know I'm really going to date myself here as the oldest member of this board: What is WAREZ? I see it a lot but I do not know what exactly it stands for or what it refers to.
Opera - great/sucks. Great:Very fast at 56K. Loads pages in half the time of IE. Become a registered user (pay $) and there are no banners. SUCKS: Of course, if you want to ever print out a web page it will crash immediately. This is a known bug in v6 and opera doesn't know how to fix it. Imagine - a company selling software for $39 that will crash if you try to print! I surf with Opera for speed, and if I come across a page I want to print I have to open IE, go to the url, and print it out. It is crazy!
DeltaCad - world's easiest CAD program. I use it to print blank MINIDISC labels of the exact size I need. Love it!
Quicken - Keeps track of all expenses, bank accounts, and tracks your budget.

How old are you you old git? ;>
Anyways Warez, is the term that has been adopted for illegaly cracked, hacked, pirated, etc. Software. Not sure where the name comes from but most things ending in a "Z" refer to this kind of apporach (Appz, warez, mp3z etc.) Obviously highly illegal and very frowned upon by software companies.
I really must try out this opera browser, twice the speed on a 56K!!! I never print out pages so that sounds cool.

P.S I really should know this but how do you put icons (smilly faces etc) into a post?

evan: Im running Opera 6.1, and it never crahses, even if I print. and the banner well, there not those ugly ones, that try to get your attention and stuff.
Pug, u really gotta try it.
also about the warez thing, um well I used the wrong word for this post...I should have made it "software". warez = basically illegal software. I have a habit of calling Apps/programs wares, or warez. :/

warez came from the "ware" at the end of software...As all those 1337 (elite) h4x0rz (hackers) tend to do...they added a Z on the end.
Mtv actually ran these awesome commercials for a while trying to explain how the Z finds its way into random words...my favorite was a poor-english speaking waiter trying to explain the word "hizouse" as having the Z because "mtv keep it fresh like Ziploc bags" :P

Opera does not crash for everyone when printing. However, for a huge number of users it is a known bug. Just read the flames on some opera newsgroups. When I reported my problem to Opera Tech Support they basically replied with "It is known bug in opera when printing from certain configurations. Opera has no current plans to impliment a fix as it is impossible to code for every obscure combination of operating system and printer". Gee, Win98Se and an HP injet - how obscure can you get? Funny how EVERY other (free) browser on the planet seems to be able to do it. I guess the old adage you get what you pay for doesn't always apply.
Anyway, if you don't have one of the "obscure" combinations, opera is great and I recommend it.
Sorry for the RANT. I think I'm getting cranky in my old age (40).

40 isnt old. :) well, for all the functions Opera gives me, a little printing problem wouldn't bother me. If I do need to print, and somthing ever goes wrong, I would just use explorer to print it out. ;-) not a biggie.
